New Centre Opened in February 2010
A new YMCA Early Learning Centre has opened in Belconnen at the corner of Aikman Drive and Joy Cummings Place. The centre operates between 8.00am and 6.00pm Monday through Friday and is a purpose built facility designed to meet the new ACT Childcare Services Standards. Licensed with the Office for Children, Youth and Family Support the centre caters for 90 children and is dedicated to early learning and care for children aged 6 weeks to school age.
There are seven learning environments and dedicated outdoor play areas. Our ambition for the new centre is to create a nurturing environment that feels safe, homely and caring , where children can learn through play. Children's work will be displayed thoughtfully and learning spaces will be uncluttered and inviting. Overall we will be working to create an environment where everyone feels welcome and has a sense of ownership and belonging
