The YMCA of Canberra values all people and and is committed to social inclusion. YMCA Open Doors aims to ensure that no-one is denied access to our programs and services that strengthen body, mind and spirit, particularly due to an inablity to pay. It is an important initiative to assist people experiencing disadvantage in our community to access the many benefits offered by YMCA programs. By Opening Doors we hope to assist people to reclaim their right to a socially connected and healthy life.
The Open Doors program is funded through the dedicated work of YMCA Auxiliary volunteers who operate two Op shops in the ACT. The profit from these shops is directly utilised to fund the Open Doors program.
